Alright, here's what's up. I am having a hard time using my Thorax. I can't seem to get the fit right. Here's the loadout from my last one (lost it last night)(the fit really was a lulzcroozer)
Highs
5X regulated ion M w/ AM
Mediums:
10MN MWD (never been happy with this)
something-or-other Engine Enervator (web)
Small Cap Booster II with 100's (i think)
Lows:
1 REALLY good named medium armor repper
1 EANM I
1 DC II
1 Good named RCU (for PG)
1 magstab
As of right now, I am working my way towards EWAR and medium combat drones, but mostly for when I get into a brutix.
I need this ship mostly for defensive PVP and belt ratting. I run escort in lowsec for my corps mining barge, and I hunt belt rats. My problem is the freakin range on the blasters. I only deal 250-300 DPS (optimistic, aren't I?) with an optimal of ~1.3km. he biggest problem is geting to that range. I get shredded on the way in with the MWD, and am left with not much cap to run the armor repper to fix the damage. And even when I get there, my guns don't do enough to make the pirates in the systems think "ok, mebbe he ain't so much worth it...".
I always heard that the Rax was a decent to good cruiser... what am I doing wrong?

yeah, I used to use a similar loadout, but I would burn thru my cap in a mere 45ish seconds with the repper running. and if I used my MWD to accelerate to get rats off my pal... I was in trouble. I actually have a take on Astro's loadout that gets 13500 EHP with a DCII running in the background. The scrambler can go, I am not interested in holding them down... yet. For now, it's enough that they leave and not want to come back. Problem is, I have only ever won one PVP engagement in my life, and that was when a noob attacked my Catalyst while flying an Incursus.
